Ogden is two kinds of yard
Middle Sound Loop is bordered on three sides by water — Howe Creek, the Intracoastal Waterway, and Pages Creek — and it still has marinas and horse farms on the loop. The older homes out there sit on big wooded lots with heavy tree cover. Then there are the newer planned communities and Bayshore, the water-access neighborhood of single-family homes and townhomes, where lots are tighter and lawns are younger. Those are genuinely different jobs, and we treat them that way.
The big shaded lots
Under a thick canopy, grass thins out and leaf load is enormous — and it arrives twice, in fall and again when the live oaks shed in early spring. On these properties we mow shaded turf a notch higher, keep the edges along long drives clean, and plan leaf cleanup as a recurring part of the season rather than a one-off. Many of these lots read as an acre or more in county records, which puts them in the $85 tier; the quote form checks that for you.
The newer sod lawns
Builder-installed bermuda or zoysia on a compacted lot behaves differently: it wants a lower, more frequent cut through the summer to spread dense, and it sulks if it's let go for two weeks in July. Weekly mowing April through October is the right rhythm for almost every newer Ogden lawn.
